South Asia Social Forum ends in Dhaka
Five day long South Asia Social Forum (SASF), Bangladesh 2011 ended with new hopes and new determination to build a new South Asia. The closing ceremony of this event was held at the Shadhinota Stombho (Independence Tower Plaza), Sohrawardi Udyan. A total of 724 foreign participants and 2555 local one registered - though several thousand including students from the Dhaka University participated. 618 organizations took part in the forum and more than 150 activities took place. A statement drafted by some of the participating organisations (Dhaka statement) was presented, denouncing social injustice in South Asia and the determination to work together as social movements in the region as one voice.
Dhaka: South Asia Social Forum Bangladesh opening rally
18th November, 2011. The inauguration march opening the SASF (South Asian Social Forum) took place today, attracting more than a thousand participants from the region and international ones as well. From Shahbag Jadughar it reached Shahid Minar, where the Inaugural ceremony started at 4.30 pm. The Forum will start its plenary sessions and workshops on the 19th and end on the 21 of November. An "extended" series of events is also planned with teleconferences, allowing distance participation.
3me Forum Social Congolaise - appel à la mobilisation
Le forces sociales de toutes les provinces de la République Démocratique du Congo, Syndicats et ONG, mouvements associatifs, Mutuelles de santé, intellectuels, artistes, paysannes et paysans, travailleuses et travailleurs, salariés, étudiants, congolais de la Diaspora, chômeuses et chômeurs, pauvres, se sont réunies au 3e Forum Social Congolais, à Kinshasa, du 23 au 26 octobre 2011 au Carrefour des jeunes de Matonge. Les partecipants ont lancé un "Appel à une mobilisation citoyenne contre le néolibéralisme pour un Congo juste, prospère et fort".
20-23 Septembre: Forum Social de Mesopotamie
Le Forum Social de Mésopotamie se réunit à nouveau du 21 au 25 septembre 2011 à Amed (Diyarbakir). Tandis que le monde entier est secoué par des bouleversements politiques, sociaux et éthiques, le Forum Social de Mésopotamie appelle à soutenir les recherches alternatives des peuples ainsi que leur lutte pour la justice, la paix et la liberté.
6° Fórum Social da Zâmbia
Nos dias 26 e 27 de agosto de 2011, o Fórum Social da Zâmbia (ZAMSOF) organizará a sexta edição local do Fórum Social Nacional da Zâmbia, que acontecerá na comunidade de Mtendere, densamente povoada, em Lusaka, Zâmbia, onde dois mil pessoas são esperadas. O Tema do Fórum é Uma outra Zâmbia é possível. As apresentações principais do primeiro dia serão sobre Governança e Mudanças Climáticas, questões preocupantes para os países em desenvolvimento.
South Asia Social Forum announced for November
A press conference took place on the 28th of August in Dhaka, presenting the next South Asia Social Forum. The five-day forum will be held, for the first time in Bangladesh, from November 18-22. University of Dhaka (DU) will co-host the programme. The main theme for the South Asia Social Forum Bangladesh will be "Democracy for Social Transformation in South Asia: Participation, Equity, Justice and Peace". Around 20,000 participants from South Asia and others parts of the world are expected to participate.

Coup d'envoi final : après le FSM de Dakar
La clôture du Forum Social Mondial aura lieu le 11 février, à partir de 16 heures, sur la grande scène de l'Université Cheikh Anta Diop (face à la Bibliothèque, côté Corniche). Elle alternera programmation culturelle et présentation synthétique des Assemblées de Convergence pour l'Action.

Final event of the WSF 2011 - 4pm on the 11th of February
The closing of the World Social Forum will take place on the 11th of february, from 4pm on, on the University Cheikh Anta Diop stage (in the main avenue of the Library, on the sea side). It will include a cultural programmation and short presentations of the Assemblies of Convergence toward Actions.

WSF: CONFERENCE OF SOLIDARITY WITH THE SAHARAUI PEOPLE
Yesterday hundreds of Moroccans forcibly prevented the holding of a conference of solidarity with the Saharaui people in Dakar during the World Social Forum. The conference "Western Sahara: Africa's last colony" will finally be held tomorrow morning Wednesday, February 9 at 12:00 in the same room (small FSJP Amphitheatre A1).

Plus de 60.000 manifestants à la Marche d’Ouverture, 7.500 participants enregistrés, au moins 1.200 activités prévues et 130 Pays représentés: ce sont les ciffres données par la direction du FSM sur cet événement qui a démarré le 6 février à Dakar.
