USSF 2010 Website Goes Live! Registrations now open
US Social Forum organizing website goes live during World Social Forum 10th Anniversary. Organizers say the potential of the Social Forum will be realized by the imagination and creativity of its participants.
Ten years following the founding of the World Social Forum, The United States Social Forum's organizing website goes live today, marking an important milestone for the self-organized democratic forum and open space for progressive civil society and social movements.
The Supreme Court's recent decision to expand corporate influence on the democratic process should help to galvanize the over 20,000 changemakers expected to gather in Detroit the week of June 22-26 from all different progressive sectors and communities to share vision, strategy, practice, and action for a more democratic future.
The site, USSF2010.org, is designed to allow forum participants to register and shape the week's activities, cultural events, demonstrations and workshops.
"If you believe in change, now is the time and Detroit is the place to make it happen," says Akudo Ejelonu, USSF field organizer.
